Q: What is the Big Cookathon 2016?

A:  The Big Cookathon is an event that aims to get the nation cooking. This year’s official recipe is our Big Cookathon Cottage Pie.

Q: Why do we hold the Big Cookathon?

A: The Children’s Food Trust is on a mission to get every child eating well. Through our Let’s Get Cooking clubs and our Let’s Get Cooking at Home website we’ve helped millions of children and their families learn how to cook healthy meals from scratch.  The Big Cookathon is a chance for even more people to see how simple and fun it can be to make a tasty, healthy meal from scratch.

Q: Who can take part?

A: Anyone can take part. Whether you’re a family, a group of friends, a school, workplace, cooking clubs or volunteer group, we’d love for you to join us.

Q: When is the Big Cookathon?

A: This year you can cook any time between Friday 22 April and Monday 25 April 2016. If you’re a Let’s Get Cooking Club you can cook any time from Monday 18 April to Friday 29 April 2016.

Q: How do I get involved?

A: Pledge to cook today. All you need to do is give us a few details and tell us how many people you’ll be cooking with.

Q: Are there any prizes to be won?

A: Yes! There are 45 prizes available:

  • 5 x £200 for getting the biggest number of people cooking together
  • 10 x £200 for groups, schools and clubs cooking together
  • 30 x £100 for friends and family cooking together

Q: How do I win a prize?

A: Just upload a photograph to the Big Cookathon web page and complete the short entry form. Some of the winners will be from a random drawer and other will be based on the number of people cooking.
